February 17, 2004 — Meet Diane Roland

One of Our Most Valuable Players

Over a decade and a half on the SLS Team! Since joining Senior Living Systems in November of 1988, Diane Roland has been writing and enhancing the programs that make LifeCare® function. Diane's knowledge of the LifeCare software and her natural ability as a programmer make her truly one of our MVP's.

Diane's life has been full of experiences and opportunities that might normally be part of several people's lives. In College, she learned how to fly a plane and later joined the Air Force where she taught instrument flight procedures in Flight Simulators. At that time there were no women Air Force pilots, and Diane was the only woman in the Air Force who worked on the simulators. After she left the service, Diane met her husband, while she was working in the Navy Exchange. He had just been discharged from the Army. Together, they have raised three beautiful children, owned a Honda motorcycle dealership as well as a bar and grill. Diane and her husband Leif, love to travel and have visited Europe, Mexico and 44 of the 50 states. Diane was also very involved with competitive ballroom dancing. She is an incredibly talented seamstress and enjoys making clothes for her grandgirls, other members of her family and friends. Diane has a green thumb. She had a Japanese style garden complete with a Coi pond until she became an empty nester and moved to a townhouse. Here in the office, the only plants which survive are those we entrust to her care. Diane also enjoys dining at Ethnic restaurants when she has the chance.

In her daily life here at LSS, Diane wears many hats. She is our most senior programmer, she replies to help calls placed by clients and she digs in and straightens out some of the stickiest of our situations.
