Health Center Default Cash Codes

SEC is the cash code that is entered in Cash Receipts in order to generate a security deposit.

Other examples of default codes are SSA (Social Security Admin), PEN (Pension), INV (Investments), OTH (Other), MSC (Miscellaneous), and IN (Income). MSC is used for miscellaneous cash receipts for charges incurred by non-residents. IN is the code used for residents' income checks that are turned over to the facility, to be applied against room and board charges. SSA, PEN, INV and OTH are Income type cash codes that will update the income in the appropriate fields of the financial profile. Entering these codes will also apply the entered amounts to the residents' account balances. The amounts that are in the corresponding fields of the financial profile are used to bill the patient's responsibility for a Medicaid/Public Assistance patient, minus the amount in the Allowance field.
