Control File Does Not Have A Valid Income/Loss Account Number
Problem: Client is trying to print a Trial Balance, but gets an error message stating that the "Control File does not have a valid Income/Loss Account Number."
Possible Solutions: Check the General Ledger Control File. Most likely, some of the fields have not been completed. After filling in each field with the appropriate Chart of Account number, the Trial Balance should be printable.
The other scenario is that "Net Income G/L Account" does not have a valid Chart of Account Number. An invalid Chart of Account Number could mean a couple of things:
- The GL Account Number shown in this field has been deleted from the Chart of Accounts.
- The GL Account Number shown in this field (Net Income) is not the liability account, which must be coded as a Summary Account Line Type.
